The purpose of Science is to aid and improve the lives of mankind. SO, this year's Science Fair will have a theme, a problem that is immediate threat to our community. Lack of new parks and greenspaces (areas with trees and plants), illegal dumping in abandon lots, garbage littering our streets, violence, abandon pets, lack of street cleaning, housing, access to the Internet, all of these and more are issues that affect us in one way or the other.
SO, what do you think? What are some problems our community is facing that our Science Fair can help develop a solution? Identify the problem and how we can as a Science class can solve it. IT'S OUR COMMUNITY AND WE HAVE THE SOLUTIONS!!!!

Our community have had all these problems for how long? And now we try to do something. We can think of a solutions but what does it do. What makes us so special that we will be able to solve these problems. We can't make a difference, we can't even put a dent on the problem. I do have an idea, the only people to make a difference are those in the government. Lets all just go to them whine and complain until they fix our problems.
Wow well um i really dont know what i want to do. There are alot of things i can do. But i wanna do a power piont of sumething. But i not sure yet
The problems that i think that as a science class. That we can found the solutions to is. All of the littering that is happening is something we can stop. I think that as a class we can pick up all of the trash on a street. Also how you have the fact that. There's about a whole street of trash that we can pick up.
There's a lot of many different things that affect my community. Whatever I do it's still not going to change the actions that happens there.
there are many things that we can do as a class to help the community. for example we can help clean up certain parts of the community of the community because our community is very dirty. there are so many things that is on the ground outsides. people just drop things on the ground and keep going and don't pick it up. we should start going outside and pick up trash. that is what we should start doing as a class for the science fair.
There are many problems in our society that affect our community. For example gun violence, murder,littering and many more conflicts that make our enviorment a unsafe place. I believe that if science fair creates programs it can make a difference. For example people can get involved in these programs. There's a big percent that people will get involved in these programs.
I think this years theme for science fair should be what can we do to stop animal violence. The theme that has something to do with the community.
I agree with billy if the systems does something about it, the community would be a safer place.
What do I think? I think that no matter what our community is going through a lot and has been through a lot or many years. I wish I could just snap my finger(s)and the community would be different then is is now. Or should I say anything that I want to be changed for the community it would be done when I say.

In the community there are major problems that we face. The problems in the community affects every one not only a couple of people. I believe that a big problems is killing. There are killings every day and the streets need to be more safe. I know that in the community we need to clean more. Cleaning is important because keeping the community clean is a good thing. These issues needs to be solved.
i agree with anyone who said that we should do a project on cleaning the communty
I think Stacey is just lazy because there is a lot we can do. The reason i said that because we can pick up the trash off the floor. Also you can clean up the abandon house so homeless people can live there. Then we can pick up the pets and send them to homes for them.
Billy has a great point. he is right no one is doing nothing to fix these problems. Know one is stepping up to the plate and making a difference. I think it is right to complain to the government until these problems are fix.
I don't really have a problem that our community is facing that isn't mentioned n the article. A problem our community is facing is the violence. Violence is a major problem in everyones community. Many young people are dying because of teen violence. A solution to this problem would be making guns and pocket knives illegal. People should only be allowed to carry guns and pocket knives if they are licensed to do so. For a science fair project, we could ask "who are more violent: teens or adult?"
I like the idea of letting our class do a project of helping our community. It not only gets us a good grade but it shows that we care about what is going on in our communities. when it really comes down to our science fair should be viewed by the people in our community to acknowledge the great work we're going to do. It is going to make our community more prettier to look at and also more safe th live in. Right now our community is facing littering and lack of places to go to. So the solution to the problem is to clean up the community and build places that everyone can go to. So the idea to clean up our community for science fair is a great idea.
There are many problems in our community now a days!So what difference does it make to come up with a solution and it won't work any way? I think that even if we as a class come up with a solution it would work for a while, but would'nt after because people in the community stay breaking the law. So what makes us think that we can come up with a solution that works. As much as I think it would not work its best to try and see what happens may be we will get some support or luck for our solution plan.

I really don't know what to say or do to help our community, but I think there would be solution to help out our community with litter, violence, abandon lots, abandon pets, etc.
I would do my science project on violence. I would because that relates to our community in a big way. It does because there are many violence and thing going around that kill people. there are many ways such as gun use, knifes and many more. many people get killed over nothing because of the dumb choices people make. many die innocently and the one that did the murder is happy and moving along with life. so in that case i would do the project on this because i would have a lot to say due to teens and others.
we could stop co2 from go in to the air. by invent new way of stop carbon. by growing more tree.

the way we can solve this problems is by just stop wasting the community money and spend it on or streets the trees and to help out with the green house people should be giving an donating money to protect our life.
There are many problems affecting our community in many ways. For example, a main one is violence. People now days are murdering and committing more crimes. They go from one little thing to big robbery's and bigger consequences. If I was to do a science fair project I would work with the theme of violence. Teenagers need to know that violence does not take them no where. Teens these days carry guns, knifes, and more with them which could cause mayor consequences. Violence is not only with teens, adults also put them selves in worser situations by locking them selves up. Violence is every where and can happen at any moment. Everyone needs to be careful, and take care of them selves. Many communities like Dorchester, Hyde Park, JP, etc. All of these contain violence and them and for th only reason of the people that are in it and committing crimes or basically disrespecting the law.

This is true people have been throwing away thiere trash in the street being trash cans there. that is not right the violence that is going on is not right besides the trash the trash that is going on is what is making the violence start because people are lookin at the community wrong and do violence.
